Join us for “Planning for Clients with International Ties,” presented by Joan Crain.
In her presentation, Joan will discuss the rising number of globally mobile families, multi-jurisdictional marriages, and offshore assets, where cross-border pitfalls are appearing in more client files than ever. Practitioners are working to stay ahead of fast-moving rules to avoid costly missteps. This fast-paced session examines significant traps that can challenge even seasoned advisors and offers practical takeaways to help practitioners identify and address issues before problems arise.
Topics will range from a client’s intent to fully expatriate versus living abroad temporarily, to structuring compliant solutions for foreign retirement plans, navigating the hidden pitfalls of foreign trusts, and exploring options beyond the standard QDOT for non-citizen spouses. The program provides up-to-date insights for attorneys, accountants, and wealth planners at all experience levels, from those new to cross-border issues to seasoned international practitioners.
