He tries to avoid using economic jargon so that those without economic backgrounds can participate in the conversations.\n \nRyo views these interactions with the public as two-way streets. Not only does he see the importance of informing the public about what is going on with the economy and at the Fed, Ryo also thinks it is important to hear what individuals across the District are experiencing in the economy. Many of the research topics Ryo has pursued were inspired by these conversations with the public. Those topics include his two main areas of focus, labor economics and demographics. Among his many contributions to the Bank, Ryo is notably responsible for the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia Economic Outlook Survey.\n \nPrior to joining the Bank in June 2016, Ryo was a business analyst for Bloomberg, where he conducted research on issues related to equity data quality. He has a master’s degree in economics from the University of Michigan–Ann Arbor and a bachelor’s degree in economics from Kenyon College.\n \nKali Aloisi\n \nKali Aloisi is an economic outreach associate. In her role, Kali contributes to research done at the Bank. She also shares the results of the Bank’s economic research with businesses, financial institutions, and community stakeholders in the Third District. Kali aims to provide tangible insights on the economy that people can use in their own communities. Kali and her team also create open dialogues with the people of the District that contribute to the Bank’s understanding of economic conditions on the ground.\n \nKali is invested in doing work that promotes the improvement of people’s social and economic conditions. She began her career in social policy research, where she applied research principles and economic ideas to issues related to economic mobility, housing, and health. Through that work, she garnered a personal interest in data and statistical analysis and enjoys applying those concepts to understanding real-world problems.\n \nKali has a master’s degree in applied statistics and a bachelor’s degree in economics with a minor in community action and social change from the University of Michigan.\n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n
